Neysha Raquel Pacheco Colón

Geography MA Candidate/ Graduate Assistant / GIS Lab Technician
Neysha Pacheco is an MA candidate from the Department of Geography at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). Her academic background includes Bachelor of Arts in Geography with emphases in Geographic Technologies and Physical/Environmental Geography from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. She has over 7 years of experience in GIS from academic and professional settings. She worked as a GIS Technician Intern in private and public agencies while pursuing her bachelor’s degree. After graduating, she worked as a GIS Analyst for the Puerto Rico Planning Board, Government of Puerto Rico analyzing riverine and coastal floodplains scenarios for municipalities of Puerto Rico in the HAZUS-MH for Puerto Rico project, provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Her interest includes physical geography, natural hazards, emergency management, and GIS.
